Tagged, shmagged

Well, Jo, you've done it. You have reduced me to another one of these taggy, what don't we know about you things. I actually have quite a bit to blog about band tour and lots of other stuff, but I think I'll do this taggy thing first. It seems fairly painless. (By the way, I hope no one cares, but I'm not going to tag anyone else. I hope that doesn't make me a complete and utter party pooper. I don't mind being a complete party pooper...just not an utter party pooper. That seems indecent.) Seriously, dear Jo, no hard feelings. I'm just having a good time ranting. :-)

What I was doing 10 years ago:
Washing my hair. Actually, I was working nights on a telemetry floor at a hospital near my parents home in Florida. I was also a team leader in our church's youth group. I was completely oblivious to the turn my life would take in a few short years - joining the Catholic church. Seriously, who knew that I would be a DEAN OF WOMEN? Perish the thought.

Five things on my to do list today:
1. Spend time with Jesus. (check)
2. Exercise. (check)
3. Get loose ends tied up from the weekend in the office. (check)
4. Go to Walmart for goodies for my dorm meeting tonight and food for my D-group meeting on Wednesday.
5. Have a dorm meeting tonight. (oh, goody)
6. Meet the man of my dreams in the aisle at Walmart. (Hmmmm, not sure about that one. The last man I saw at Walmart kind of creeped me out.)

Snacks that I enjoy:
Way too many to name them all. Sometimes I'm afraid that it's anything edible not nailed down. OK, I'll be serious:

Boston Baked Beans
Tortilla chips and spinach dip.
Veggies and Ranch Dip
Goldfish crackers
Graham crackers and milk
Crackers with Laughing Cow spreadable Swiss cheese.
Microwave popcorn (kettle corn flavor)
(are you starting to see my problem?)

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Invest enough so that I could live off the interest.
2. Give my parents enough so they wouldn't have to work if they didn't want to.
3. Help my brother pay off his new album.
4. Invest in our Bible colleges heavily.
5. Invest in mission organizations. I think that it is criminal that they must struggle as they do.

Three of my bad habits:
My goodness, I'm not sure if I can come up with that many. ;-)

1. Snacking (see above)
2. I can be pretty one track and can occasionally make people feel that I'm not interested in them. (I'm working hard on this one.)
3. I need to be more self-disciplined in several areas. (I'm also working hard here!!)

Five places I have lived:
1. Cincinnati, OH - as a tiny child.
2. Hobe Sound, FL
3. Indiana, PA
4. Hobe Sound, FL again.
5. Cincinnati, OH again - as a bigger child.
(Isn't that a nice symmetrical list? I love symmetry!)

Five jobs I have had:
1. House cleaner for a nice and very patient neighbor.
2. Switchboard operator for HSBC.
3. Student assistant to 2 nursing professors at IUP. (lots of library work, etc.)
4. Telemetry staff nurse and relief night charge nurse.
5. Resident Director for Women (my fancy title now).

Five people I want to know more about:
I shall forgo the last one. I would love to know all about all of my dear readers - especially since I found out about a few more of you on tour. :-) HI!! If any of you would like to randomly take this quiz on your own, I will enjoy it immensely on your blogs.

Another blog soon to come... (This one with pictures. Ooooooooooo.)

I should be your favorite Jo because I thought about tagging you, but.....I didn't! lol I really enjoy reading these things, however, I didn't feel the energy to tag anyone.

Jo, you would be more of my favorite Jo if you would go to bed on time.;) (Kidding! I know tonight was different!)

Alanna! Hey! I loved being on tour with you too. It was amazing wasn't it?

Jo.....go to bed.

:o) Enjoyed this list~ you're just soooo cool, Sonja. Who would've thunk it?! BTW, you're wise to be careful what you wish for in Wal-Mart. I complained to Nathan a few years ago that I couldn't remember the last time some random guy 'hit on me'... I was feeling pretty ugly that day. The next time I was at Wal-Mart, some weirdo stalked me, and then approached to tell me I have BEAUTIFUL TOES!!!!! OK, so there ARE foot fetish people out there, so watch out!!!

Hey girl! Thank you so much for sharin' about you! :) I'm sorry that I didn't get to chat with you this time around. It seemed to be a very busy sort of trip. I was either at an engagement party or working on homework. Sorry... Next time, friend...Next, time...

Have a blessed week!

P.S. I kinda like that other 'Jo' critter! :)

Hey Feind...opps I mean Friend. Enjoyed your list thingy. Woo hoo.

I also enjoyed the pictures of tour and a very handsome young man.

Lastly, I just read your "Faith" blog as well. In the last several years I have had a real mind change with my understanding of faith. It was so helpful for me to learn that faith, believe and trust are often times the same word in greek. That really changed how I thought since you can't really "faith" something in english,it's just something you have or are given. Believe has come to mean something you do without a lot of risk. However trust is something you choose regardless of the results. It's that everyday dependence on Jesus. It's what helps me to not look for certain results so much from God as it helps me to trust Him with whatever comes. While it might be old news to some, it sure changed my life. Thanks for the reminder.

Woo-hoo... no late night calls for me! Ha! Except there is my hubby who keeps asking me just how much longer am I staying up... guess he gets weary of my being up half the night, but when else does one get to blog in peace when they have three little ones? Actually, I have been trying to get my kids to bed earlier these days, and, then, they get up earlier and wake up earlier! Nice alarm system, huh? I really ought to be up before 8 anyway... unless the kids are sick or have kept me up half the night.
Hey, thanks for the nice comment on my blog!
Loved the educational blog!

As always, enjoyed your post! Very funny indeed. Anxiously awaiting the next installment. This won't be a long comment, 'cause I'm headed to Wal-mart to shop for a you-know-what(shhh...don't tell anyone, 'K?) I'm gonna roam the aisles until I find him. They'll probably find my bones in a couple of years...haha....
Love you, and looking forward to seeing you next week! Yay!

Hey Sonja,
I enjoy reading your blog from time to time. Thought I'd poke my head in and say hi! I was at HSBC too but don't remember if I was there when you were. But our families were both in the Covenant church...I think?

Sonja, I really miss your bubbly musings. Wish I could still see your smile everyday. You're amazing! Kristina Clemens

I did love learning more about you, but I am alarmed at where this post could lead. I see Kimberly headed to Wal-Mart in flipflops watching the feet of every man that looks available.

(Forced to respond here...)
Ahh...men in flipflops gawking...judging character by feet..STILL looking at Walmart for my one true love...what a life!

Hi Sonja... You don't know me... but we do have mutual friends, so what? Does that make us shirt-tail friends?

In any case, my pastor's wife is looking for the music to a song she is just pretty sure your parents (or maybe your family) sang. She was going to write to HSBC to see if they had your parents' address, and I told her I knew about your blog and... (gulp!) ...promised her I would email you to see if you could direct her to the music. Anyway, the song she is looking for is "Now More Than Ever". I Googled it and couldn't find anything like that. Does it ring a bell with you?

Feel free to comment back on my blog or email me at karla AT roadstoeverywhere DOT com. Thanks so much!

I seriously enjoy your blog. So funny..... especially the part about Walmart.
I remember getting "hit on" in Walmart once. I don't know how old the man was, but he was OOOOOLLLLD. Does that encourage you??? :-D
