Picnic...and The Hat

Yesterday was lovely. The weather was just right for a picnic -- sunny with enough breeze to keep one from succumbing to heat stroke. Everyone is walking around today with rosy cheeks and good old fashioned holiness sunburns. I got one as well -- even with the hat. And yes, I did promise hat pictures. So here they are. Here is my phenomenal staff who have kept my office from falling apart while I've been out of the saddle.

And here...(drum roll)... is a closeup of me in "the hat." If you look closely you can indeed see the word "marathon."

I wish someone would have combed my hair. I'm not sure whose job it was that day. Anyway, I wish all of you, gentle readers, a wonderful day -- or night depending on when you read this. May you rest in the goodness and love of an all-wise Heavenly Father who loves us whether we look good in hats...or not.

I'm so glad that the hat was red.A mini marathon hat in any other color would not be the same.

Sonja;

Just so you know. You are not supposed to comb your hair when you wear a hat, that's the whole point. Good grief, and your supposed to be the smart one.

Kayla is right, red or nothing else.

Love the pictures! LOVE the hat! And, my GOODNESS, are you ever looking like the VERNON these days! I'm thinking maybe Uncle Steve.....

Hope you're feeling as well as you looked in the photos. Take care of yourself. Love you, friend!

Blessings,

Hmmm...a Vernon, well, yes, I guess it must be so. I especially appreciate the largeness of the gap between my teeth. ;)

Julia, you wound me. (That's "wound" pronounced woond, not the past tense of wind.) I KNOW that's the point. I just saw that I was having a lot of escapees in the hair department.

Kayla, thank you. I think red is very important. I do believe your observation is correct.

And finally, yes, I'm feeling pretty well! It's terribly exciting.

Past tense of "wind"? English is so frustrating. That's "wind" pronounced "wined" -- not the stuff that blows outside. I have a feeling this could go on and on.

Please quit while you're ahead!

Love,

p.s. that's 'ahead' as in out front; not "A Head" as in the thing that sits on your shoulders.... :)

WHAT? you need a date with Tony he's the bomb. Not really a bomb as in explosive devise, but the bomb as in a ton of fun. Although, he doesn't weigh a ton, actually he's very thin. If you put red hair, a bloody apron, and cheap cologne on your brother you'd have Tony. By the way, does your brohter have a blog, cause if things don't work out with Tony maybe.......

This Viola person is starting to annoy me...I need to know her identity! She is sooo very funny and little like me in her spelling! Ha! By the way Viola, how did the date go? Any details you would like to share?

Hey! Ya'll are cracking me up! Cracking as in ... laughing... not cracking as in ... breaking...

Sonja... I've been praying for you keeping up with you through Cindy. Now I can just check on here :-) The net is so cool!
Glad you are doing so well... I would be whining probably if it were me. I would hope the Lord would help me to NOT whine but it would be my natural tendency. You are a trooper, girl!
